Requirements of AB 481
AB 481 requires each law enforcement agency’s governing body to adopt a written military use policy by ordinance in a public forum by April 30, 2022, in order to continue the use of this previously acquired equipment effective May 1, 2022. Public Input Regarding AB 481
The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office is holding a public meeting and seeking public input regarding the military equipment held by the Sheriff’s Office, Tehama County Probation Department and the Tehama County District Attorney’s Office, Investigators.
A public meeting is scheduled for April 25th, 2024 at 3 PM, at the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue building located at 2010 Park Avenue in Red Bluff.

Between the 2023 reporting period and the 2024 reporting period, zero complaints from the public have been reported to the Sheriff’s Office regarding any AB 481 equipment.
