Investigations & Operations Administration

Lieutenant Donald Thomas began his law enforcement career in 1984 as a Reserve Police Officer for the City of Red Bluff, and then a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Tehama County prior to his full time employment in 1986.  Don worked assignments in the jail, and then patrol prior to being promoted to Detective in 1991.

In 1993, Don promoted to Sergeant, again working assignments in both the jail and patrol. As a Sergeant Don commanded the T.I.D.E. Task Force, and would later become one of the agencies range masters, a Tehama Inter-Agency S.W.A.T. team leader, and supervisor the Sheriff’s Dive Team.

In 2007, Don promoted to Lieutenant and was assigned to Administration, overseeing the operations of the newly acquired Coroner’s Office, Boating Enforcement, Civil, Evidence/Records, and special investigations.  As of 2011, Don was assigned to Operations where he oversees the field activities (patrol, dispatch, investigations, boating enforcement, Coroner investigations, and reserve deputy unit) of the agency.
